The average weekly pay for Placer County residents improved 7 percent in the final three months of last year compared to a year earlier, that’s the 16th-largest increase in the nation, according to a federal report released Tuesday. Placer County residents earn $866 per week, about $120 less than the statewide average. Sacramento County’s average weekly wage improved 4.3 percent to $929, while the weekly pay in Yolo County increased almost 5 percent to $763. El Dorado County was not included in the report. Santa Clara County has the state’s highest average weekly pay at $1,569. The best-paying county in the nation? New York County at $1,780. This is Ron Trujillo for the Sacramento Business Journal.
