It’s the second time Sacramento County’s Health and Human Services Director Lynn Frank has picked Kaiser. Methodist protested Frank’s previous decision.
Now, Methodist President Tim Moran says they’ll keep pushing forward.
"Well we’re disappointed with the appealed decision. We do intend to vigorously pursue designation as a level two trauma center. We know we’re the best choice for trauma. We’re endorsed by UC Davis Medical Center."
County supervisors will have the final say when they vote on the issue in November. Kaiser and Methodist are sparring to get the lucrative trauma center designation for South Sacramento.
