The development would replace aging warehouses along the American River near Richards Boulevard with a vibrant, urban neighborhood.
"We’re looking at this being the catalyst that will create some real energy and synergy throughout the whole River District."
Sacramento City Planner Greg Bitter says Township Nine would sit on 65-acres.
"The project proposes approximately 2,350 residential units, nearly 840,000 square feet of open space and more than 146,000 square feet of retail space."
Bitter says the project also includes a light-rail stop to encourage mass transit use. If city officials approve the development, it would take 10 to 15 years to complete.
