This year, the fair’s theme is “Fun Never Grows Old” and the main exhibit is Toytopia, showcasing the history of toys.

You can also expect the usual sites and sounds, from livestock exhibits to rock bands. But let’s get to the real reason you go to the fair.

"What is the latest deep-fried stuff?"

Spokeswoman Jessica Dunning says they’ve added some new deep-fried culinary treats.

"The deep-fried Elvis sandwich and that has peanut butter, bananas, a little honey drizzled in and it’s obviously named after the late Elvis and the last of the new things this year is deep-fried Coca-Cola."

Yeah, you head right. Deep fried coke contains cola syrup mixed with a deep-fried batter and a cake like mixture inside a cup with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Last year more than 900,000 people attended the fair.

The 16-day event starts this morning at 9:30 and runs through Labor Day.
