In one scenario, officers freed several people held hostage by a gun-wielding suspect in the library.

(sound of training) "Go straight out that way, straight out that way. One coming out, one coming out. Are you a victim, are you a victim?"

Captain Daniel Hahn says the training includes classroom instruction, tactical response and real-world scenarios.

"So our officers are prepared in the event that we have some unfortunate incident on campus during this upcoming school year, that our guys have the best training and are able to deal with that."

Hahn says officers will continue to train on school campuses year-round during school breaks such as Easter Vacation.
