Raley’s announced in June that it planned to sell its ten locations in New Mexico to Albertson’s, which already had 22 grocery stores in that state. State and federal approval was necessary … and now it’s been granted. Six hundred of Raley’s 840 workers in New Mexico were taken on by Albertson’s. Raley’s said it was leaving New Mexico in order to strengthen its competitive focus on northern California and northern Nevada, where it operates 130 stores as Raley’s, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill and Food Source.
