That’s because of construction delays on Dixon’s new $75 million high school campus. Ed Eusebio with the Dixon Unified School District says construction crews are still working on the science building, laying down pavement and planting grass and trees.
"We were confident that August 15th to open for students that we could make it and what we forgot is we had four months of rain in 2006 and we not quite recovered from that. A few more days gives us an opportunity to get the classrooms ready."
The first day of school at Dixon High will be on August 27th. The new campus is located south of the Dixon May Fairgrounds. The old Dixon High School on East A Street will be turned into a middle school.
