Matt Altier with Sac State’s non-profit business auxiliary, University Enterprises, says buying the property was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"It gives us a 188,000 square foot building which is very large, eight acres and almost 900 parking spaces at half the price of what it would cost us to do that on our own."
CalSTRS will lease most of the building back for the next two years while their new headquarters is under construction in West Sacramento.
Altier says specific uses for the building haven’t been decided yet. Buying the property is part of the school’s Destination 2010 expansion plan which also includes a faculty village.
