The Solar City Corporation from Foster City is making an innovative pitch to homeowners in Rocklin. If 40 households sign up for solar installations, it’ll do the work for 20 to 30% less than the going rate for individual homes one at a time. Solar City completed a similar project in Portola Valley with 77 homes, and with more than 100 homes in Mountain View. Homeowners in a neighborhood tend to recruit each other. The installer can apply for all the permits at once, and have other economies. The company will pitch its offering at the Sunset community center twice in the weeks ahead.
