A couple of the new laws may affect your recycling habits.  You’ll be forking over an extra penny when you buy a recyclable bottle or can.  The C-R-V is going up in an effort to encourage more people to recycle.  Also, you’ll have the option to recycle those pesky plastic shopping bags.  A new law requires large grocery stores and other retailers to provide a system for consumers to recycle them.

A couple of other new laws are aimed at making school lunch a little healthier.  They set limits on sugar and fat in cafeteria meals, and ban soda in public high schools.   And just in case you were wondering, the law making it illegal to drive with a cell phone to your ear doesn’t go into effect until next July.
