Sacramento County Joins With Community Agencies To Promote Healthy, Wealthy Older Years
Wednesday, June 20, 2007
Sacramento County is joining with community agencies to present a forum on women and aging.
Bert Bettis, with the county’s Senior and Adult Services, says Sacramento County wants its citizens to be well-off financially, physically and mentally during their elder years.
Bettis says, “In Sacramento County, we expect by the year 2040, we’ll have about a half million older adults in our county, so it behooves us to begin first to educate our community regarding these issues and then to plan around those issues as well.”
The forum is part of a series of presentations aimed at baby boomers and older adults in the county to help them prepare for their senior years.
Past forums have looked at senior safety issues such as identity theft and elder abuse.
