The blaze, near the town of Kernville, has burned about 3,900
acres of remote grass, brush and wooded areas.
Pam Bierce with the Goldledge Fire Information Team says another
challenge is the rugged, steep terrain.
"Some of the fire is hung up in some of the really rocky areas.
They can't get crews in there so what they're doing is just going
ahead and watching the fire for a couple of days just to see what
kind of activity it's going to have with the increased
heat."
Bierce says containment of the Goldledge Fire isn't expected
until June 20th. The blaze, which began June
3rd, is about 65% contained.
Authorities believe the blaze was started by someone across the
street from the Goldledge Campgrounds.
