The President of Friends of the Davis Public Library, Erik Vink, told board members – a growing population means there’s more demand for library services.
"Our libraries are literally being loved to death in Davis. We need to refurbish, renovate and modestly expand. We also need to retain the operating hours that the community has come to rely upon and begin providing library services in South Davis."
If voters approve the measure, property owners would see their current library tax go up from $42 to $88. Low-income residents and seniors would be exempt. The increase is projected to raise nearly $2 Million in its first year.
