Folsom Seeks Quicker Police Response

Right now, it takes about 7-and-a-half minutes for a squad car to appear on the scene of an emergency, with backup arriving 2-minutes later. City Councilman Jeff Starsky wants Police officials to figure out what kind of resources they need to be faster. 

"I’d like to see what it would take to knock a minute off each of those times. That’s a pretty easy standard to figure out and I’d just like to see what it would take. Maybe a shockingly, horrific number for me to look at from a budget perspective but I really want to know what it is."

Police and city staff are expected to come up with some ideas at a workshop this Wednesday. Earlier this year, the Folsom Fire Department adopted a 7-minute response time standard by adjusting staffing hours.
