Residents will vote Tuesday on a proposal to build a $250 miillion horse-racing complex. Solano County’s assistant registrar of voters Debra Seiler says voter turnout should be more than 50%.
"We’ve had a good response to the absentee ballots that had been sent out so we’re predicting certainly many more voters at the polls. That’s a very good turnout for a special, stand alone, municipal election."
The polls close Tuesday at 8 PM and the results are expected to be announced about two hours later. Supporters say the proposed “Dixon Downs” facility will improve the local economy. Opponents say it will create too much traffic, noise and pollution.
