Composite Engineering in Sacramento has announced a $5 million increase to its ongoing Air Force contract. Over seven years, it’s providing up to $200 million worth of unmanned jets called Skeeters. They’re used for target practice by the Air Force, testing pilots abilities with their extreme maneuverability. About 200 employees work on this contract, most at the company’s plant near McClellan Park. The company expects a total of $50 million in new orders by 2009, and has plans for further expansion.
