It’s billed as the largest single development of solar residences in the country. National homebuilder Lennar will construct 1,250 energy-efficient homes with solar power systems as standard features in 11 communities in and around Sacramento. 500 will be in the Anatolia subdivision in Rancho Cordova. SMUD will provide more than $10 million in incentives. Lennar will get the rebates after each home is built. Residents’ electric bills should be about 60% lower than in conventional housing. Other subdivisions will be in Elk Grove, Natomas, and elsewhere in Rancho Cordova.
