The 4 to 1 vote will provide $100,000 a year for the dealership to upgrade its high-profile facilities on Fulton Avenue and to stay there for a decade. Daugherty Chevrolet employs almost 200 people, and generates more than $800,000 a year in sales tax revenue for the financially strapped county. The auto dealer was considering a move to North Natomas, which would have shifted the local sales tax revenue to the city of Sacramento. The Supervisors also directed county staff to devise guidelines for any future requests for location incentives.
