Laurel White, with the Sacramento U.S. Attorney’s Office, has been trying to reach as many educators, parents, teachers and kids as she can…to teach them about on-line predators and safe use of the Internet:
We’re not going to be able to prosecute ourselves out of these cases, there are just too many offenders out there.  One thing we can do though, is try to educate kids, so that they can engage in more responsible use of an Internet.
White recently visited the Elk Grove Unified School District.  She warned students about giving out too much information about themselves on the popular My Space site.
Her work is part of the U.S. Attorney General’s Project Safe Childhood Program.
