New Anti-Meth Ads Hit The Air Waves In Sacramento

The Partnership for a Drug Free America and the state’s Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs teamed up on the ad blitz to reduce methamphetamine abuse in the state.
Cathy Dunn, with the Partnership for a Drug Free America, says the ads are meant to let meth users know there is hope for their addiction:
 
It is treatable and very successful. We have many people out there in the various treatment centers that speak to this.  We really need to get these messages out there, change people’s attitudes and change their behavior.
 
Although actual numbers are hard to come by, it appears based on treatment rates, California leads the nation in meth abuse.
