The new online archive features videos clips, photos and newspaper articles. It was developed by Sacramento State.

Professor Tim Fong, who leads the university’s Asian American studies program, says his personal favorite part of the site is a speech that Matsui gave to Congress back in the late ‘80s.

"And you see both his professionalism and his courtesy to his colleagues, even those who disagree with him but you also see, which is really wonderful, you see his passion about the issue."

Bob Matsui: "How could I, as a 6-month old child born in this country, be declared by my own government to be an enemy alien?"

"It was a very powerful video clip and something that I think will stand out in the website."

Matsui helped push the Japanese American Redress Act through Congress in 1988.
