Dozens of streets around the State Capitol building will be closed to accommodate the racers. Sacramento Police Sergeant Chris Taylor says you should avoid driving in the area.

"Parking is going to be extremely limited, access to major streets is going to be nonexistent unless it’s an emergency vehicle."

So how does Sergeant Taylor suggest getting downtown?

"For anybody who’s been contemplating even possibly checking out light rail or an alternative way to get into the downtown in the future this would be a great day to practice."

Earling Rockwell is a clerk at the Newsbeat newsstand at 10th and L. He says even though streets will be closed around him, he’s expecting a surge in customers.

"I think it’ll be great for business. I’m anticipating a pretty big crowd and I think I’m going to sell a lot of drinks, probably not a lot of cigarettes though."

Racers should arrive in Winters around 12:30 PM, in Davis between 1 and 1:20 PM and over the Tower Bridge into Sacramento at 2 PM.
