Clarksburg is really a hamlet of about 120 homes. Some there are opposed to having 160 new homes, plus acres of commercial, industrial, and tourism uses, in the name of economic development. The proposal for this from Carvalho Stanich Properties was approved in October by Yolo County’s supervisors. But on Thursday the Delta Protection Commission will hear an appeal of that decision. The strength of the levee comes into play, as does sewage and impact on agriculture. The commission has never overturned local government approval of a major project in any of the five counties it oversees.
