NEC Electronics spokeswoman Denise Iwata says the proposed Diamond Plaza condos would be too close to their plant and that residents would ultimately start complaining about the noise.
"I mean are they going to be happy in an area where there’s noise, there’s lights, it’s also a delivery route for us, we do have chemicals that we use in semiconductor manufacturing so our concern was to keep it zoned as industrial."
Officials with KMS Communities, the condo developer, declined to comment Wednesdayon the project. The 13-acre development would be built at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Industrial Avenue.
Roseville City Council members were originally scheduled to vote on the plan Wednesday but have delayed a decision until February 7th.
