The transfer of Sacramento’s downtown railyard to private hands has been getting all the headlines … because it will one day offer thousands of new homes and apartments. But another project, called Township 9, is closer to reality. Located on Richard Boulevard, reaching to the American River, it’s planned for 2,700 new homes, plus offices and stores. Its environmental report, critical to the entitlement process, is due next week. The Railyards’ report isn’t expected until mid-year. Township 9 would replace aging industrial buildings on a 65 acre site … and site improvements could begin this year.
