The inaugural kick-off at Capitol park carried an environmental theme.  Sun and biodiesel powered the event that was open and free to the public.  Schoolchildren were encouraged to eat better and live greener...

Governor Schwarzenegger is recovering from a broken leg and was advised by his Doctor to miss pre-inauguration festivities.  First Lady Maria Shriver came with two of her children and her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver.

“Arnold sends his well wishes.  I hope you all say a big prayer for his recovery and I hope when you go skiing you don’t break your femur because it isn’t pleasant.”

As for the governor’s inauguration address it’s expected to have a bi-partisan theme— that will be highlighted by the em-cee-- former Democratic Speaker and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown.
