Though his orthopedic surgeon calls Schwarzenegger’s recovery from a broken femur “extraordinary,” Dr. Kevin Ehrhart is advising the Governor to elevate his leg and stay off his feet as long as possible. That means Schwarzenegger will miss the planned pre-inaugural public celebration Thursday. In a statement, Schwarzenegger expressed his regret at missing the event at Capitol Park, which is slated to include live entertainment, food, and activities for children. First Lady Maria Shriver will attend the celebration.
Schwarzenegger broke the bone while skiing in Idaho before Christmas. The Governor said he’s looking forward to his inaugural address Friday. He’s also expected to attend the gala that evening….as well as his State of the State Address and budget rollout next week.
