Placer County is getting the highest payment of over $2 million. The county’s tax collector – Jenine Windeshausen – says it’s a stable source of funding.
"About 2/3 of the money will go to school districts in the county and about 20% will go towards maintaining county roads, road improvements, law enforcement, criminal justice and other services."
Statewide, PG&E is paying nearly $97 million to the 49 counties it operates in. The payments include franchise fees and other taxes.
