Transportation officials Wednesdayannounced plans to relieve bottleneck traffic congestion. Celia McAdam who heads the Placer County Transportation Agency says they have most of the money to pay for it but are hoping for more funds from the recently passed Proposition 1B.

"We’re very excited about it and hoping that we are successful in getting some money out of the infrastructure bond so we can do the full project that the public wants to see happen."

She says it’ll cost about $210 million to widen I-80 between the Sacramento County line and Highway 65.

Construction is set to start next February or March and be finished by the end of next year.
