Development of the hotel project has been stalled since the summer. The vision is a 250-room building, with a long-awaited large conference center, something South Placer doesn’t have. The developer, Kobra Properties, has been unavailable for comment, but it may well be another instance of what’s happened in downtown Sacramento – soaring costs for construction materials have stalled projects or killed them outright. Meanwhile, Kobra Properties is pressing ahead on other south Placer projects, including a large new parking garage for the city and various restaurants.
