Medicare Part D is the government prescription drug program for seniors. Conor Lee, with the group Senior Educators, says there are more than 55 plans in California:
It’s a very confusing subject, and so yeah, it can be a nightmare for many seniors.
Seniors who are satisfied with their plan should check to make sure it hasn’t changed for 2007. If it is the same, or changes are small, they need do nothing. If they want to change, or enroll for the first time, they can call Medicare or Senior Educators for help in selecting a plan.Government officials say about 5 percent of those eligible for Part D are not enrolled, and they could be saving about 11 hundred dollars a year.
