Time’s running out to register to vote in this November’s election. Monday is the deadline….and that means voter registration cards must be postmarked by the end of the day.  If you can’t make that, Secretary of State Bruce McPherson says his office is holding three late night registration drives: two in L.A. and one in Sacramento.  Those events will go until midnight, and McPherson say it’s important to give people that extra push to register:

“We want everybody in the state to vote, who’s eligible.  There’s about 22 million eligible voters in California and only about 16 million are registered to vote.”

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is also coming up – it’s next Tuesday – October 31st.

The Sacramento registration drive is at the convention center, near the main entrance on J Street.  It runs until midnight.
