All four colleges are collecting unwanted electronic items for recycling – free of charge.    

"It’s illegal now to put this kind of electronic waste in landfills so it’s another reason we’re doing this we want to help the environment and make sure it’s gotten rid of safely."

Los Rios spokeswoman Susie Williams says they’re teaming with Electronic Recyclers – the largest E-waste recycling company in California.

You can drop of your E-waste from 9 AM until 3 PM Saturday at American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake and Sacramento City colleges.
