County To Issue Credits For Missed Garbage Pick-Up
Sacramento County residents who missed two weeks of garbage pick-up because of the recent strike by county workers will soon receive credits on their bills.

The board of supervisors unanimously approved credits for about 150 thousand customers, even though David Pelser, director of Waste Management and Recycling, said the price to the county would be steep:
The estimated impact of this is approximately 1 point 4 million dollars.
Pelser told supervisors it was likely his department would recover the cost of the credits by raising rates sometime in the future. But supervisors agreed it was a good move to issue the credits now.
Most customers missed two weeks of service and will see a credit of about 10 dollars on their bill. People who took their garbage to the dump and have the receipts, will also be reimbursed.
