Doug Elmets, spokesman for the Yes on the Arena campaign, says he’s holding the Maloofs to their promise, which he says was one and a half million dollars:
We expect them to contribute to the campaign. They made a commitment, and we’re looking forward to their contribution.
The Maloofs have had nothing to do with the campaign for nearly two weeks, ever since they pulled out of arena negotiations with the city and the county.
A spokeswoman for the Maloofs denies there were ever any discussions with the campaign about a specific contribution amount.
