In the past month and a half, undercover officers have raided just over 20 indoor marijuana gardens most of them in Elk Grove but also some in Natomas, Rancho Cordova and Stockton. Christopher Trim with the Elk Grove Police Department says with all the media coverage, they expect to get more leads from neighbors about other possible sites.
"We suspect that residents are going to become a little more concerned about their neighborhoods and start to give us a call regarding any activity that isn’t normal."
Trim says that activity could include several things.
"Loud noises coming from inside the home, sounds of construction, also possibly bright lights emanating from any of the windows."
Detectives arrested two Sacramento men in their mid-40s in connection with this latest discovery of Elk Grove home gardens. They’re still trying to figure out if all the cases are connected to a Bay Area drug ring.
