Thomas Enterprises hasn’t yet taken ownership of railyards from Union Pacific … but nevertheless has pledged $2 million to underwrite the “Yes on Q&R” campaign. The measures would authorize a quarter cent sales tax through Sacramento County for 15 years. It would generate more than a billion dollars for an arena and entertainment district, and other unspecified projects. The Maloof family has yet to contribute to the campaign. They stepped back from negotiations after a recent highly publicized dispute about parking revenues, and what would be built outside a railyard arena. Thomas Enterprises says will close the railyard deal very soon.
