Among the survey questions for lawmakers was toughest boss, best dressed and most effective. There was even a category for “Governor’s Pet”— that was a tie between Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Assembly Republican leader George Plescia. Capitol Weekly Editor Anthony York says some really got into the popularity contest.
“We did have one state senator who came with his staff in tow to vote in person and they cast their secret ballots in envelopes in the actual official stationery of the state senator.”
