Residents of the Waterford Place condos took their fight to the Folsom City Council this week including Violet Vernon who told council members she and her neighbors were duped by the complex’s developers and need the council’s help.
"You have a responsibility to the citizens of Folsom. The developers are fleecing the Folsom flock."
The condos were built from existing apartments – a move approved by the city despite an inspection report warning of suspected mold.
Folsom Mayor Andy Morin directed city staff to investigate the matter.
"We need some finality on exactly what we can and can’t do and what our obligations are."
A representative from the condo developer – Prometheus Real Estate – did not return our request for comment.
