While Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger stood alongside typically Democrat-friendly environmentalists to sign solar power legislation in Los Angeles, Democrat Phil Angelides courted small business with his plans for tax breaks.  He spoke to supporters at an ice cream shop…

“We’re going to help all the small businesses and entrepreneurs, not the multinational corporations, build the economy of the 21st century…”

In addition to proposing tax hikes on couples making a half-million dollars a year, Angelides is also pushing a package of tax cuts including a break of up to five-thousand dollars a year for small businesses.  The Schwarzenegger campaign has called the plans for cuts empty campaign rhetoric with insufficient explanations.
