Signature Properties, which built thousands of homes in Roseville, is buying property at 3rd and Broadway. It’s owned by Setzer Forest Products, and sits beside Interstate 5. Signature’s initial plan calls for as many as 2,000 housing units in a mixed use development. Details haven’t been worked out. Meetings with the nearby Land Park Neighborhood Association are underway.
It will bring dramatic change to this western end of Broadway, near the Sacramento River. Broadway business owners and some residents met just this week to discuss ways to enhance the corridor. While it’s tucked away, it’s 2nd in size only to the downtown railyards in the urban core as a site for redevelopment.
