All around Raley Field in West Sacramento lie 188 acres known as the Triangle – which only now is about to see some new development that is underway. But along the Sacramento River itself, just south of the Tower Bridge, local architect Dean Unger and others want to build 7 residential towers. The riverside buildings would be 10 to 20 stories high, with about 900 units, most of them condominiums at market rate, but 100 would be affordable housing.
Their proposal also includes a 200-room hotel, and some retail and office around a large plaza. They don’t have financing. Right behind that site, Regis Homes is just now finishing the models for some 200 single-family homes, in a Triangle project called Ironworks.
