Governor Schwarzenegger announced today Friday that employment in California grew by 11,000 jobs in June.
"This is really great. Our unemployment has gone from 5% down to 4.9%. So this is why I’m smiling again. Everyday I’m smiling."
Analysts with the state Employment Development Department say the information sector added the most positions last month with 3,300. The financial activities sector lost the most positions at 1,000.
In Sacramento, the unemployment rate rose a bit from 4.6% in May to 4.8% in June.
