One of the leading voices against a sales tax increase to pay for a new arena is Dave Tamayo – president of People United for a Better Sacramento. He anticipated Thursday's announcement of a deal. 

"Well it’s no surprise. I mean there’s a deal to give away approximately half a Billion dollars of taxpayer money to multi Millionaires so it’s basically what we expected." 

Tamayo says it’ll be a David and Goliath campaign heading up to the November election. 

"I have a feeling we’re not going to be able to raise quite as much money as the Maloofs are going to be able to provide to push this thing through but we’re definitely going to be asking people to show up at the Board of Supervisors."

That meeting is next Tuesday when County Supervisors will vote on the proposal.
