The annual festival is the small Delta town’s signature event attracting thousands of people each June.
But school board president David Bettencourt says it needs to be off campus.
"Because every year it’s an ongoing problem. They come in and try to set up during school hours and we got people going through the campus all the time and we don’t know who these people are so we felt it was a safety issue so we decided not to let them use the campus."
No word yet on where festival organizers will move the event. The 3-day Isleton Crawdad Festival has been held since the mid 1980s.
