The DVD allows seniors to test their driving skills in the privacy of their own homes.
Sean Comey of Triple A says it measures vision, memory and other skills one needs to be a safe driver:

The program is designed to make recommendations on steps that they might be able to take to contend with some of the diminishing skills and abilities that we see as people age.  But it might also say that not driving is something that they need to consider.

Comey admits Triple A can’t force dangerous seniors off the road, but the DVD test might cause them to think twice if it shows their skills are not up to par.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, except for teenagers, seniors have the highest crash death rate of any age group on the roads.
