IBM has added 250 jobs in Sacramento during the past two years … creating a work force that today is 600. The company’s finding increased spending by government agencies offering services online, and private companies are stepping up their tech investments as well.
IBM stopped manufacturing personal computers in 2005. Services, software and hardware systems are the core of its business now. The biggest new area contract is with the Gap, which runs a low-profile administrative hub in Rocklin. That retailer signed on with IBM for more than $1 billion in services over a ten-year span.
