Davis City Councilman Ted Puntillo says the tax works out to about 40 cents a week per resident.

"It’s money that we’re already spending to maintain our parks and if we don’t have it every resident in Davis will have 40 more cents every week and our parks will go downhill."

No one from the “No on Measure G” campaign answered our requests for comment – but they argue that the tax isn’t needed since Davis’ tax revenues have gone up in the past few years.

Two-thirds of voters must approve the tax June 6th. If they do, it’ll stay in place for six years, producing more than a Million dollars a year.
