Jones’ bill, AB 2782, would allow the development of a Children’s Museum, with private and public funds, on a piece of land across the street from the Railroad Museum in Old Town.
Jones says he decided to push the bill, after visiting children’s museums in other cities with his own children:

They are just wonderful places for children and families to have a great educational and recreational experience.

The Sacramento Children’s Museum is planned to be a hands-on, interactive experience for children up to 8 years old.
Jones’ bill passed the Assembly on 71 to 0 vote.
It is now going to the Senate for consideration.
