State school’s chief Jack O’Connell says time is running out. He wants a quick appeal because gradation season is just around the corner.
"We need ultimate resolution. We are certainly aware that graduation, commencement exercises are scheduled the next three or four weeks for 99% of our schools and we want final resolution as quickly as possible."
An Alameda County Superior Court judge last week ruled that the exit exam discriminates against poor and minority children.
The ruling affects around 47,000 high school seniors who have yet to pass the English and math test.
